Received news that my mum's colleague might be paralysed due to a fall from a flight of stairs. Details were still vague but as much as she could gather, the whole situation was something like this:-
-Man went drinking with buddies.
-Man left early
-Man approached an isolated stairs exit.
-Fell down and was unconscious.
-Man only discovered by workers the next day
-Currently situation doesn't look too pretty - suspect that he injured his spinal cord thus might be paralysed.
For his and his family's sakes, I pray the ending is not what everyone fears.
Hearing something like this almost so close to home really strikes one's mortal nerves. What we have and take for granted can disappear just as easily as this -snaps fingers-.
Let us take a moment to think about what we have and to finally appreciate the good things and kind persons around us. Too many times, we are drowned in our own despair and frustrations to see the blessed light surrounding us. Until it is too late.
-grabs Alex and kisses him furiously-
*Alex looks bewildered*
Life is short indeed, so lets:
Soak in simple pleasures like the festive joy.

Even if it means posing in front of the stupid tree.

Savour every meal like its the last.

Yes, even if its a bowl of maggots.
As I was saying, savour it.

You don't want to leave Earth not trying maggots do you?

We live to eat.

And that includes cutesy wutesy lil kittens.

Nah, just kidding.

Tell your loved ones you love them so.

Even though some may look a tad retarded.

Enjoy chummy moments with your pals.

And relish sweet revenge on your enemies.

Here's to life.
Cheers.
