The engines are gearing into motion now, except the driver can't seem to get the car moving past first gear.
Despite the onset of a brand new year, my biological momentum is still stuck in half clutch, refusing to go any faster. I practically had to drag meself to school today. But this semester seems a tad cooler. At the very least, we can understand perfectly what the lecturers are talking about. Plus, my previous group members are all in the same tutorial group as me, so me have company and not rot alone in a room where no one cares about your decomposed stinking body.
But the worst has yet to come. We will be receiving our results soon enough and boy oh boy, i sure ain't looking forward to it. Let us observe a minute of silence to offer prayers that Mel will get through her semester so she doesn't have to read another book of Lee Kwan Yew or do "intensive in-depth research" on MacDonald's.
Me second sister is at her first cross roads now, the path everyone chooses when they reach 16/17, after the dreadful O levels. Just when you thought you can take a breather after cramming those crappy theories and formulas into your bird brain (how many people use differentiation after O levels anyway?), life throws another crisis at you - your life choice in your future path.
Would you choose the typical Singaporean route - JC to Uni? The path almost all parents desire, the education value that Singaporeans hold dear, the relentless and endless paperchase for a more comfy lifestyle in the future?
Or would you venture into polytechnics, where possibilities are only limited by your capabilities?
Choices choices choices. Tearing my poor sister apart.
Arts or science related? New media or medical sciences? Or how about the alluring business studies?
I'm sorry Jo that i cannot offer you much advice on what to choose. I strongly believe in personal choices that unlike mum who will probably lead you to the path which will yield the highest returns, I can only ask you to follow your heart. For that is my motto which I would not want to impose upon you but to let yourself see my perspective. Dad of course, will scream because happiness doesn't put food on the table, but still despite his screamings through the years, my heart rules over the head. Which is probably why I keep getting stuck into crappy jobs wth shitty pay, but that you do not have to know. ;p
Take thought into this, choose wisely and carefully and after that, do not look back anymore. It may be the right choice, it may be the wrong choice, but ultimately it is your choice and its only as bad as you make it out to be.
Just like life itself.
It can be a shit hole, and it will always be unless your eyes see that at least you can shit in a shit hole and that you are not suffering from constipation whereby your dung is clinging on to the walls of your intestines, refusing to go towards the black light of the sewers.
Me thinks me is feeling philosophical today.
So allow me to end with some wise words.
Hmmmm...
Ermmmm....
Thinks. Thinks. Thinks.
Ahhhhh.....
Q: How many chicken legs does it take to cross the road?
A: Two!
